For those who want more practice…
The early practice group will begin at 6 P.M. and go until about 6:50 P.M. We will be meeting in the main hall. We will be playing tunes from previous weeks. We'll start slowly and gradually speed up each tune. Each tune will be played 8 -10 times. This is not a teaching group, but a chance to play and practice the tunes with other Fiddlei-cious members. ALL are welcome to attend. There is no problem in coming late; join us at any time, but please enter quietly.
Our Program
Our Program
Our music features tunes passed on from our Scottish, Irish, Quebecois, and Acadian ancestors. Fiddle-icious begins each calendar year with a new repertoire of tunes. From January through July, the group meets bi-monthly to learn each tune ~ one by one and note by note. Don generally teaches two tunes at each rehearsal, and by the end of July the group has prepared a new set list for its annual concert series. From August through mid-October, the group meets weekly to rehearse the program and expand upon it by adding solos or small group ensembles, singing, and step dancing. In late October, Fiddle-icious takes to the stage to share its music with the community.
